Location of Sighting: Butte, Montana
Date of Sighting: December 17, 2012
Time of Sighting: 8 AM MST
Description: I would best describe the object as a moving star, but it was about 8 AM mountain time. The object disappeared two times before reappearing and staying for the remainder of the sighting. My daughter and I were heading eastbound on I-90 as I do everyday. This object was seen from about 10 miles before Butte Montana until we exited the highway and started northbound. Then the mountains took over our view.
Note: Skies were partly cloudy at the time of the sighting. The witnesses probably saw Venus which was visible to the southeast at about 15 degrees above the horizon. Sunrise was at 8:06 AM MST.
