Date Sighting Reported:December 26, 2008
Duration of Sighting: 2 Hours
Latitude: 48.08 Degrees North
Longitude: 105.64 Degrees West
Number of Witnesses: Three
Number of Witnesses Interviewed: One
Weather: Witness Stated That Skies Were Clear.

Description: I saw flashing red and blue lights during the night towards the southeast. My brother had counted six of them and I had counted seven. My mother said that one had moved and stopped. I would have taken a picture, but you wouldn’t be able to see it because it is so far up in the sky.

Additional Report by Witness: My brother had seen the lights before me. I was out cruising, and I came home at 9 p.m. My mom was looking up at the sky. She pointed them out and I saw them. I went to bed at 11 PM and they were still there. When I first saw them they were southeast of our house and when I was going to bed I looked out and they were more south than southeast. I did not hear any sound because they weren’t that close. They practically looked like stars with flashing blue and red lights. The skies were clear that night, but the night after the skies were cloudy. So I wasn’t able to look up and see if they were still there

Comments: Given the slow movement and long time duration of the sighting one could conclude that the lights were stars attenuated by atmospheric conditions. However, the colors and flashing aren’t consistent with this conclusion.
