Location of Sighting: Lolo National Forest, Montana
Date of Sighting: June 5, 2016
Time of Sighting: Near Midnight MDT
Description: We were camping in Lolo Forest in Montana with friends. We were looking at the stars and watching shooting stars when we saw the object which we first thought was a very large satellite. We both had a strange feeling about it as it flew straight across the sky above us. It was moving at a steady pace and looked like a big bright star or satellite. We began shining our bright flashlight at it yelling for a few seconds when it flew to the other side of the horizon. It started to dim and shimmy back and forth going in an upward direction faster and dimmer until it disappeared. Neither of us had ever seen anything like it before.
MUFON Investigative Notes: No meteors/comets/asteroids were in this area on this date/time/location per amsmeteors.org. The local newspaper had no news articles regarding anything similar for the month of June. I checked Space-Track.org for any decay/re-entry debris on this date/time/location and there was none.
